There is no one in the scene quite like Annika Wolfe, a Oxnard native that has tapped into the very essence of 80’s Punk, Funk, and New Wave - channeling those influences into their own Techno productions. EMS019 showcases this sound that is both unique to Wolfe’s hybrid hardware/DAW production methods and gripping dancefloors across Southern California & the USA at large.
“Fever Dreams” is comprised of 5 original tracks, all built for maximum playability across even the most discerning of dancefloor audiences. ‘NuErotic’ is a stunning opener, laying the groundwork for the kind of big drum programming and synthwork found throughout the EP. The title track ‘Fever Dreams’ has been a favorite in recent sets from artists like VTSS, Silent Servant and label manager False Witness - a main stage party track where chunky drums meet Paisley Park-esque bassline and synths.
Wolfe goes even deeper on ‘Off The Wall,’ maintaining a solid funk and groove across 140BPM, ideal for infusing energy into even the most weary of dancers. The EP closes out with two versions of ‘Mind Numbing’: the Stripped Mix is ideal for layering across a 3+ CDJ set up, where the drums can help fill out older tracks with less engineer processing. Chaotic Mix stands on its own, with a ominous siren lead to fill out the most cavernous warehouse spaces.
